Sixth-ranked Osos (2-8) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Mets (6-7) in Guaynabo on Wednesday. Mets managed to secure only three-point victory 96-93. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was international center Ismael Romero (205-1991) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Bryn Forbes (190-1993, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Ismael Cruz (190-2000, college: Indian Hills) produced 30 points and 7 assists for the guests. Osos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Guaynabo moved-up to third place, which they share with Quebradillas. Manati lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Guaynabo is looking forward to face Quebradillas (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Manati will have a break next round.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atleticos have a solid series of three victories in a row. San German moved-up to fourth place. Quebradillas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Guaynabo. San German will play against league's second-placed Mayaguez at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Criollos have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Caguas moved-up to third place. Mayaguez at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Caguas will meet league's leader Arecibo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mayaguez will play against San German and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
